"Os dois shows foram simplesmente incríveis."
O guitarrista do Diamond Head, Brian Tatler, relembrou a abertura do AC/DC no que seriam os últimos shows de Bon Scott, descrevendo o comportamento amigável do lendário falecido cantor em relação à banda de Tatler.
Diamond Head guitarist Brian Tatler recalled opening for AC/DC at what would be Bon Scott's last couple of shows, describing the legendary late singer's friendly demeanor towards Tatler's band.
As the "Am I Evil" co-author tells The Logan Show in a new interview, Diamond Head got to open for the Australian hard rock heavyweights at Mayfair Ballroom in Newcastle on January 25, 1980, and at Gaumont in Southampton two days later after Def Leppard, who were opening for AC/DC on the tour in support of "Highway to Hell," dropped out for some studio work.
The guitarist said (transcription via Blabbermouth):
"The two gigs were just incredible. We watched [AC/DC] both nights. And, of course, we had no idea they were gonna be Bon's last gigs; no one did. But, yeah, they were absolutely brilliant."
"And then, about a week [later], on the 10th of February, I think, a week or so later, we heard he died and we were all completely shocked. [It was] very strange to meet somebody and get their autographs and all that, and then suddenly they're no more. [It was] very strange and quite upsetting."

Bon Scott died sometime between the late evening of 18 February and early morning of 19 February 1980, aged 33. The official report of the coroner concluded that Scott had died of "acute alcohol poisoning" and classified it as "death by misadventure."
Asked about whether Scott was fun to be around, Tatler said:
"Oh, yeah. In fact, we came off stage, and he'd been drinking a bottle of whisky. He was watching us from the side of the stage. We were all thinking, 'Oh, Bon Scott's there, look, watching us. We should be good. We've gotta play well.'"
"And he'd been drinking a bottle of Jack, I think, and he gave the rest of the bottle to our bass player, Colin [Kimberley], as we passed him. 'Here you go, guys,' you know, that kind of thing."
"And Colin kept that bottle and took it home with him and thought, 'Oh, that'll be worth some money one day.' [Laughs]"
